CEC is universal, but there seem to be numerous ways of doing the same thing with CEC. The HD-MD-400/300 online help article has two commands for on and two for off. So if the first one does work, maybe the second will. There is also a very thorough KB article with a list of a LOT of CEC codes. 2.

Others will work ok using an HDMI to HDMI. The "cropped" desktop is usually fixed (as mentioned by Krupa) using a scaling adjustment. Right-click the desktop and look for the Intel display settings and perhaps find the scaling adjustment. The Windows settings in control panel do not provide a scaling adjustment.

If you are using HDMI to hook up your sound system you need to be using HDMI ARC number 3 located n the back side of your tv to the left as your looking at the front of the TV set.. If your looking from the back, its on the right side and it's the lowest HDMI port below HDMI 2

I own the following equipment: Sharp LC40LX700E LED TV with Aquos Link. Sony HT-XT2 Soundbase. Phillips DVP2980 DVD Player. The TV, albeit now 8 years old, is fully equiped with Aquos Link (sharps name for CEC/ARC) on all 4 HDMI ports. The DVD player and the soundbase are new. The problem I am having is that the Aquos link works, but not reliably.
